My Background
Although new to Metchosin for six years. My heart is rural!
Before moving here, my family and I lived on Latoria Rd. We purchased our home there in 2001. It was quiet and beautiful. It is no longer either of those. We chose Metchosin for the values and goals this community has.
If elected, I will continue to strive with Metchosin, Mayor, Council, and District staff to uphold those same reasons that brought me here with respect, dedication, an open mind, and practical input.
My vision
My vision for the long term is that our children continue to fight for a rural Metchosin and keep farming and agricultural activities alive and thriving. My vision for the present is to continue working with Hans Helgesen for safe passage for their children and many others to follow. We need to continue keeping taxes affordable and look at ways to help find solutions for much-needed alternative housing. Just to clarify not increase the density of housing.
What experience do I have to bring to the table?
DIVERSITY OF COMMUNITIES
Communities need a diversity of voices at the table, to ensure we are looking at issues from all sides and discovering innovative solutions to the challenges presented to us.
BALANCE
I know I can bring balance to the council by conducting myself with honesty and integrity. In a way that furthers our councils' ability to provide good governance to our community.
ACCOUNTABILITY
I would ensure we are held accountable, and I will be able to work with district staff, community members, and fellow council members in a meaningful manner.
